Children's Talent

Some People Believe that child’s talent is Natural. Parents are demanded to find out their child’s talent sharply and seriously. Parents take care and grow their child, and also equip them maximally with the real skill to help child to achieve their future. Having a smart, good achievement, educated or let’s say genius child is a desire for every family or parents in the world.

Understanding child’s talent is the first step to help them to achieve their future. But do you know the boundaries of talented itself and the challenge that will be faced in directing child? Does our child really talented in some field or not? What can we do as parent to know and develop child’s talent and what should parent keep on guard to make the effort being succeeded? Too weak in motivating child is wrong but if we do not give motivation is truly wrong.

The grandeur of developed country is on the ability of the people to think imaginative. The growth of us is depend on key factor that is be an open minded to the new ideas which enable for us to be creative. Every new instrument or equipment to make our life easier, university, enterprise or technological creation and entertainment come from creative ideas.

Some expert of phisicology explaine about talented child as below:

Tannenbaum explain that talented come from four classification; scratcity, superiority (refer to high level of sensibility and sensitivity), quota (the limit of individual who has skill) and anomaly.

According to Renzuli that someone can be said talented if he show the abilitu above the average, doing creative thing, and ambitious to do his job/assigment.

Damon’s opinon explain that talent is very need to get good achievment. But to get good achievment talent need to be depeloved by hard working, tenacity and excercise.

Basically the three experts above agree that to developed one’s talent, admission and attention are necessary. Giving the opportunity to develop interest, hard work, tenacity and exercise continuously.

To find out child’s talent, we can use some reference offered by the experts. For example, advised by Dawna Markova, Ph.D;that child’s talent can be knew by the way they learn.

However, standardization can not give artfulness and innovation. If we think about it once again, in fact, standardization effect the imagination become weak. So let your children using their imagination as long as the imagination still on boundaries which will not be dangerous for their life.

To understand mindset that is used by our children on the first time, we need to know three kind of basic attention that is use on your mind to think and learn.

@ Focus : will be happen when we are concentrate.

@ Sorting the information will be happen we are thinking or feeling confuse.

@ Image : will be happen when we are on our own world and insensibly thinking of all.

Basically we communicate and receive information by three ways. All the people use it, but most people use one or two of them. They are:

@Visual- see

@Auditory - hear

@Kinesthetic – feel and do.

The simply and effective way to find out mind set that is used by people is by asking them to teach something that you don’t know. So we teach the way we learn insensibly. Ask your child to teach you something, then watch step how does he do.

Try to find out some little thing to teach your child. See the most natural step for your child when he is doing this thing. Is he a visual person?,kinestetik ones? Or Audio ?

The role of School and Family

Hopefully, school can help children to get their achievement on education. However, parents have the very important position on developing their child’s tallent. It was believe that a well taking care of children lead the bigger opportunity for children to explore their tallent in appropiate with their interest.The way of family to take care of children based with LOVE, and also equip them with enough stimulation is believe can create the tallented children.

Cooperation between school and parent are very needed. The good parenting and warmth that given by parent, and then teacher give them more excercises.

Parents can stimulate their children by:

* Give high boundary for academic achievement but still realistic for children.
* Motivated your children to be optimistic that they can achieve what they want.
* Talk and play with children, to increase their ability in communication.
* Tell about any kind of phenomenon in your environment. While you talk about your daily routine tell them what do you do and why. Push your child to ask and help him to answer by himself.
* Watch what they like to do, as drawing, painting, or using number. Help them to evolve their hobby. Find out how can they join the competition in environment or city.
* Bring your child to the place where they can learn something new, as music concert, art gallery, and museum.
* Find out a member of your family who can be a mentor to help your child increasing their talent.

That’s why parent and educator have to consider about things as follows:

forcing too much for children can decrease their motivation to increase their tallent. Child will be suppressed, broken heart, or doing something only for present. Even they will lost part of their childhood.

Parents who has tallented child ought not to hope that their children in the future will be a creator, inventor or inovator. A Child with tallent to be a doctor not expected to be a serum founder but he can be a good heath care person in his enviroment.

Pamayang Sari the Quay

My partiality for the sea food takes me to the Pamayang Sari Quay. The south beach of Tasikmalaya We can reach there from Jakarta by personal transportation or public transportation to Tasikmalaya then continue to Sindangkerta from the bus station of Tasikmalaya. From Bandung , we can reach there by public transportation also to Tasikmalaya and continue to Sindangkerta. With IDR 75.000 to 80.000, we can get there to the beach.

After four hours trip and winding road, shaking our stomach that make me headache, finally we arrive to the Pamayangsari quay. There is no more uncomforting body with watching traditional boats in line with the sound of ocean surround. It was really a great scenery that can not be found in Jakarta . Very Exotic. We can imagine the fishermen go out to the sea by their traditional boats, early in the morning. And come back after they collect enough fish for their life. The hassle of life that we usually forgot. The hassle for fish to be served in our dining table. I wish the fishermen always there for that. Indeed.

Pamayangsari beach is still natural. A lot of local tourists are come. If we consider that this place is the same with the neighborhood, named Pangandaran beach in Ciamis Regency, West Java , Indonesia . Pamayangsari Beach is the centre for fishermen activity in the south beach of Tasikmalaya . In this place that also a fisherman village always held fishermen Party annually as the reflection of thank God for the blessing to the fishermen when they go through for fishing. Local Government support this annual event to be an tourism attraction that can be enjoyed by the tourist. And know they build the port for the fishermen to do their activity with the boats. Pamayangsari port, they called.

Layur ( name of fish ), shrimp, gabus (name of fish), being the main course in this beach. A line of traditional house will be the place to taste the fish. While waiting to the chef, we enjoy the beautiful sunset and went to mosque for praying (maghrib) not far from where we are. After we pray, the beverages are ready. White rice, sauce, vegetables and hot tea. Hmmm really awaken my desire. I have my dinner, and mosquitos on the beach can not disturb us.

Night come and we are going to the guest house not far from Cipatujah Beach , about several hundred meters from Pamayangsari quay. Not more than 10 guest house we can find. A friendly guest house reception take to the rooms with only need IDR 250.000/night. This is the best place, maybe we can call pavillion, with two rooms, bathrooms, fan and television are enough for us to take a rest and be the end of our trip.
